THEY SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE

Challenged to reignite a company heritage story by making it contemporary and future focused, the idea was to set the film around a constant spirit within the company that has seen it defy the odds time and again. Until now, the story was told by re-cutting the same old archive for an increasingly diverse global audience. Castrol needed a more powerful voice to bring brand meaning to its archive and re-engage it with today’s audiences.

Set around the recurring phrase, 'they said it couldn't be done', the film was shot at Pendine Sands where Castrol’s world record breaking began. The narrative played on a poem by Edgar Albert Guest while capturing the voice of Castrol. VFX metaphors combined with reflected glories to enrich the story and underline the ongoing value in heritage. (Multiple award wins)
